Black-Eyed Susan

Black-Eyed Susan, or Rudbeckia hirta, is one of the most popular wildflowers grown in America. They also attract a lot of insects, such as butterflies, bees and other creatures that are attracted to the flower’s nectar.

According to Patricia Hill, a garden designer in Elgin, Illinois, “the showiest of my self-seeding perennials, these golden daisies bloom from mid-July through mid-September and beyond.”

The good part is that they can live in both full or partial sun areas. They are tolerant of any type of soil and tough conditions, but you can use fertilizers if you want to keep them healthy and at their best.
