
Damp
Just like poor ventilation, damp is also very bad for your health, causing a lot of health issues. In fact, damp may be the result of poor ventilation or excessive condensation on your windows. The most common signs of damp include a musty smell, mold on your walls, peeling wallpaper, and excessive condensation n your widows.
Damp can usually be seen on your walls, ceiling and floors and is characterized as an unwanted moisture in those areas. Nonetheless, if you have leaking pipes, a broken or missing roof tile, moisture rising up from the soil, or poor ventilation, you should talk to an expert and fix the problem as soon as possible.
As I mentioned before, damp leads to mold, so if you are exposed to mold, you will be prone to developing respiratory diseases, allergies and a weakened immunes system. Moreover, according to the World Health Organization, damp can also be one of the causes of asthma. (see more on the next page)
