David Robinson
David Robinson is an American former professional basketball player. He played for the San Antonio Spurs in the National Basketball Association (NBA). As you probably already know, he was a 10 time NBA All Star, the 1995 NBA MVP, a two-time NBA champion, a two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner, a two-time Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and a two-time U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame inductee. In other words, Robinson is one of the greatest centers in NBA history.
So, in 2007, he launched Admiral Capital Group, a New York based private equity fund. His main motivation in starting Admiral Capital was to earn more money to support The Carver Academy (founded and funded by him to help inner-city kids). It seems that the company’s portfolio is worth more than $100 million and consists of nine upscale hotels and office buildings across the United States as well as Centerplate, one of the largest hospitality companies in the world.
