We all know that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are two of the biggest lovers of real estate investments and they made a fortune from it. For example, when the famous couple bought the nearly $40 million Brody House, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi decided to sell it for a profit of $15 million. They have also bought and sold various homes throughout Southern California in Santa Barbara and Hidden Valley.
But that’s not all! The television host actually has more experience in interior design than some professionals, without giving up her real job. She was Nick Jonas’s landlord, flips houses like a pro and loves to decorate her houses.
“I think I wanted to be an interior designer when I was 13. I remember one specific moment in this one house. Setting up my bedroom, wanting to do it in a certain way,” the comedian explained to The New York Times.
She also told The New York Times that furniture is art, so she started shopping in a different way, redoing homes and recognizing what a great home was. DeGeneres said that she would design and decorate houses all day long.
