The best way to organize your fridge
There’s nothing more disheartening than opening the fridge door to be met by overflowing shelves and food that’s potentially spoiled.
Anita said an organised fridge comes with many benefits, namely you can tell what food you have, what food you need as well as food you may need to toss.
‘Having an organised fridge can make such a positive difference to someone’s day, given the number of times we go in there – making breakfast, lunch and dinner and everything in between,’ she said.
She explains her process for sorting out the fridge starts with moving all raw meat and seafood on the bottom shelf to prevent unwanted drips and spoilage or contamination of other food items.
If leftovers are a regular feature in the home, Anita suggests dedicating a single shelf for these in order to save yourself from the ‘hide and seek’ game.
The expert adds it’s important to bring foods most regularly used to the front of the fridge as well as storing kids’ food at a height that’s easy for them to reach.
