Make up tools
Make up tools can be some of the dirtiest things in your home and unfortunately, we all use them often to apply face cosmetics. If you apply your foundation with a beauty blender it is recommended to change it after every use, and if you do not believe us you can do a mini experiment: pick your used beauty blender and cut it in half and tell us what you see. Just microbes, because they love to live there.
According to many make up artists and beauty specialists, the foundation can be applied with your fingers (after you wash your hands properly), with brushes – but only if you wash them after every use and a disposable beauty blender.
People who suffer from acne should be very careful with those tools because they can make the situation worse. These microbes and viruses can cause different types of skin irritation, eczema and severe acne.
“Makeup brushes pick up skin bacteria as well as oil and dead cells that help harbor those germs,” says Cynthia Bailey, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in California.
So, if you wear make up you should wash your brushes after every use – and this applies to eye or lips brushes as well. All you have to do is to fill a cup with cleansing gel and some water, then put the brushes and leave them for a few minutes. After it, rinse them with water and let them dry on a clean towel for a few hours. Take care of your skin and you better use your fingers to apply the make up – but, of course, do not forget to wash your hands properly.
