Disinfect your sponges
As you probably know, sponges are in the top ten dirtiest things in your home. Nevertheless, they are very useful when it comes to cleaning your utensils, dishes and countertops, right? If you want to minimize the spreading of bacteria, you should disinfect your sponges as well.
O’Hanlon proposes a new technique for disinfecting your bacterial sponges, namely the microwave method. All you have to do is to “put a damp sponge in the microwave for 90 seconds on full power, you’ll reduce the amount of bacterial on it by [up to] 99 percent,” explained O’Hanlon.
