Makes your family love veggies
In general, when you put some effort in choosing what kind of veggies to plant and the process of planting per se will make people more excited to taste their harvest. Not to mention that what you do with your own hand will be more delicious, right?
If you have kids who usually don’t like to eat veggies, they will definitely change their perception of it after they see you planting and taking care of them. When you put the harvest on the table, they will be more tempted to try them, especially since they see you happy and satisfied with your achievement as well.
According to a 2016 study done by Mateja R. Savoie-Roskos, PhD, MPH, RD, Heidi Wengreen, PhD, RD and Carrie Durward, PhD, RD, on increasing fruit and vegetable intake among children through gardening based interventions, published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, children who were introduced to gardening were more likely to eat more fruit and vegetables.
