Your Razor
A “clean shave” may not be as clean as you think. A 2019 study found that beards contain “significantly higher” amounts of bacteria than dogs, including potentially-harmful varieties, like staphylococcus aureus.
When you shave, some of those bacteria are transferred onto your razor, and your bathroom’s frequently-damp environment creates the perfect atmosphere for them to multiply.
So, how do you take care of this potentially-infectious problem? Replace those blades regularly and give your razor a soak in a solution of half white vinegar, half water to kill off any lingering bacteria.
